It’s been on my mind since this morning, and I can’t get it out of my head (now, don’t go all kyle minogue on me here).

Last night, Naief and Um Naief left to go to the states… leaving me behind, but will join them in Feb. So that means Christmas, Eid, New Year’s, ‘Arafa’s Day’ , will be all spent alone - except of course in Eid where the whole family get together.

It’s been a strange feeling since they left… the house feels so quite.. i don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing, but it just feels so very empty.

Been thinking now that I have lots of free time, I may go back to the studio and start working on some original music. I guess once you start doing commercial work, you lose the sense of what you really want to do. So this is a nice opportunity to work my butt off and get some serious tunes going…

Apple’s new OS is here. This new Operating System’s features are so advanced, I can’t wait to try them out. One of the features that really got my attention was the Time Machine. For quite a while, I haven’t figured out why apple never used anything like System Restore in Windows. Thankfully, my prayers have been answered, and we’re now blessed with Time Machine.

Here are some of the main features of Leopard. You can check out all 300+ new features from Apple.

1. Finder: Browse your files like you browse your music with Cover Flow.
2. Quick Look: Browse, play, view, and page through your files. Without opening them.
3. Time Machine: See how your system looked on a given day and restore files with a click. I particularly dig this feature cuz a lot of times I get rid of files and then wish I hadn’t.
4. Mail: Email personalized stationery, take notes, and write to-dos that appear in iCal.
5. iChat: Video chat with effects and backdrops, present remotely, and get more from text.
6. Spaces: Create custom workspaces to stay clutter-free and organized.
7. Safari: The world’s fastest browser, now with even more features.
8. Boot Camp: Run windows natively on OS X.

Altered iPhones Freeze Up

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 28 — Since the iPhone hit the market in June, tech-savvy owners of the phone have been busy messing with its insides, figuring out how to add unauthorized software and even “unlock” it for use on networks other than AT&T’s.

But the Web was filled Friday with complaints from people who had installed the latest iPhone software update, only to see all the fun little programs they had been adding to their iPhones disappear — or, still worse, see their phones freeze up entirely.

Should they have known better?

Since Monday, Apple officials have been warning iPhone owners that using unlocking software could cause the phone to become “permanently inoperable when a future Apple-supplied iPhone software update is installed.” But in many cases those warnings went unheeded.

People who had unlocked their phones to use them with another carrier ran the greatest risk of, in techie terms, having them “bricked” — rendered about as useful as a brick. Most of those who committed the lesser transgression of installing programs not authorized by Apple simply had those programs wiped out.

People have created dozens of programs for the iPhone, ranging from the useless but entertaining (a virtual popcorn popper) to the decidedly practical (a screen-shot capture program).

But for anyone who upgrades the iPhone’s system software, a routine process that adds Apple’s latest fixes and improvements, those programs can no longer be used. The update has made the iPhone “almost impervious to any third-party hacks,” said Erica Sadun, a technical writer in Denver who has created more than a dozen programs for the iPhone, including the screen-shot program and a popular voice recorder.

I know that there’s absoloutly no way to stop people from stealing music. There are tons of software out there that lets you steal audio. But… I can’t let that stop me from sharing my work with honest people who appreciate good tunes.

So, having said that, I created an online radio station on this blog where you can enjoy a varaiety of my music. Feel free to leave this window tab open while you surft the web, and listen to some good music.

The list is still small, i’m uploading more and more music each day.

Just so you know, I took off the single audio player on all previous posts. So the only way to listen to the music no is thru this page.

I’m getting sick of this!

This is the second time I’m having to take my MBP to I-Machines.

The battery is messing up! As SOON as I disconnect the power cord, it dies… No warnings, nothing. Even though the battery is fully charged, it won’t even last 3 seconds with the power cord being unplugged.

I’ve been reading on Apple’s discussion board and, to my surprise, a lot of people are have the same problem. I wonder if the fault is from the battery itself, which i doubt because it shows the battery as fully charged. It might be a problem with the internal power connectors? I really don’t know. All I know is that it’s so frustrating because sometimes when Naief is playing close to me, he pulls the cord out, and I loose pretty much whatever i’ve been working on.

The good news is, is that the battery is still under warranty. So there shouldn’t be any issues with getting it replaced, if indeed it turns out that the battery is faulty.

Anyone else having the same problem?
